ebay is bollix

Since I last wrote I've been busy bidding on a Mister Disc/Sound Burger. Even though I bid over €200 some fucker with some kind of bidding robot kept outbidding me. In the end I just gave up. Fuck ebay.

On the musical front I managed to pick up the first album by Dutch prog-jazz supremos Focus. I wrote about them ages ago here. Anyhow the album is great if you're into that kind of thing.

One album that I'm looking forward to purchasing in the coming days is 'Home Schooled'. It's already available on CD but I have to wait until it comes in on vinyl. Home Schooled delves into the little known side of the 1970s childrens soul music. The CD has a great little booklet that goes into the history of the phenomena, so the vinyl better have something equally as good or I'll be snapping.

Finally, the second issue of Analogue is available around Dublin town. It's even better than the first with the exception of the article on the ridiculously over-rated and over-exposed Star Little Thing and the bad review for Nancy Elizabeth. Never let a girl who likes Joanna Newsom review a record by any other female folk artist. It just won't work. Anyway, the rest of it is top notch so grab yourself a copy while they're hot.

Big Up Analogue Massive.

That Crickey bloke just rubs me up the wrong way. Its all a bit contrived for my suburban sensibilities.

ebay fucks. I had a mate in England bidding on another in a UK only auction and I missed out on that too. Snappage.

Right lads. Auctions. You bid more than the other guy. It's straightforward enough, you scabby fuckers.

here comes Macker with the windy bullshit!

the problem isn't bidding more than the other guy -- it's the fuckers with "auction sniper" software who just top your winning bid by 50p, with seconds to spare.

I've found a solution though-- if you can find auctions with "Buy Me Now" available, I just buy those and skip all the bullshit. works great.
